Progress so far

The progress at the Centre of Excellence has being outstanding the last couple of weeks with the taping of walls and the installation of ceilings continuing throughout the build. The lift has now been installed and the mechanical and electrical items continue to be put in place.

Mist coats have started on the ground floor and the construction of timber cladding progresses well on the external facade of the building. The construction of paths is rapidly progressing and the section 278 works are complete.

Over the next two weeks

Over the next two weeks, rendering will be applied to the external areas of the building in conjuction with the application of timber cladding. Mist coating will continue throughout the building and taping and jointing will progress on both the ground and first floor. Mechanical and electrical items will be installed and the 1st fix joinery will continue over the coming weeks with construction of architraves and skirtings.

Meet the team...

Joe Donkin
Assistant Quantity Surveyor

How long have you been at Sewell?
I have been with Sewell for 3 years from October.
What do you think about the project?
I think both Centre of Excellence and Lincoln Court will be a great addition to the local area and personally I take pride in knowing what we are doing will benefit both the elderly and children in years to come. It has also been very interesting for my career development working on both a refurbishment and new build project simultaneously.

Where are you from?
I live in a small village called Elloughton which is located in East Yorkshire.

What do you like to do outside of work?
I love spending time with my family & friends outside of work and am also a very keen rugby union player and currently captain Hessle RUFC 1st team.
