I would like to thank the team for all the hard work and commitment they have once again shown over the summer period. All the feedback I have received from clients has been very positive and reflective of what I have experienced across all our sites.
To celebrate our success we had a night out bowling, and I think I can confidently say that we all celebrated well!
We have a secure workload for the rest of the year, and there are plenty of opportunities ahead of us.
To the team, keep up the hard work, continue following our Sewell behaviors, and we will be sure to finish on another very positive year.
Many thanks,
Geoff
We are currently running an excavation.
This has been done using four trench boxes to allow Drax to repair a “Plant critical pipeline” that had gone down. The pipeline is filtered water and blew the tarmac road in several places. There are only two filtered water lines, so it was essential that we acted swiftly on this so a repair could be done.
At South Hunsley School, we’re building an extension to create a new teacher training centre. Over the last two weeks we have;
• Installed half of the structural steelwork
• Laid brickwork and blockwork to finish floor height
• Laid a concrete blinding to all areas awaiting the block and beam flooring
• Laid three bays of reinforced concrete slabs sub floors
• Installed the new drainage runs to the north and south elevations on the site
• Installed two glass partition pods to the existing building
In the coming weeks we will be;
• Installing the block and beam flooring
• Continuing with the brick and blockwork
• Installing the remainder of the steel work
• Preparing and laying the remaining reinforced concrete slab sub floors
Works are well underway for the building to create a small new welfare area, which will include a new kitchen and toilet for staff to improve their work environment.
Upcoming works include installation of the new IPS and cubicles to allow for the mechanical works to progress, along with decoration.
New smoke and heat detectors are to be installed as well.
The project involved us stripping out the existing break room of existing M&E services, kitchen units and flooring.
We then had to carry out investigative works to locate and identify the underfloor heating, which once done enabled us to create several core hole penetrations through the floor slab to allow us to get services through such as power, and hot and cold ventilation feeds.
Ventilation is required in the room ready for the new dental equipment and units. We then fire stopped the penetrations to comply with building control and made good the floor screed and installed new vinyl with coved skirtings.
Henry Schein (client appointed subcontractor) installed dentistry cabinetry, dentist chair, x-ray and other specialist equipment.
