Project Summary

A new build construction of a three story office, rental and car washing facility which will include new office space, rental space, toilet facilities, car washing, and external car parking. The site spans 42, 688 square-ft and will be the largest branch in the UK for Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

The project is focused on greener sustainable options for the business which includes solar panels, permeable tarmac, drainage, flow control device and an interceptor to help control the flow of water into the Sheepscar Beck that runs parallel to the project, latest water recycling systems that collects water run-off from the washing facilities, and a number of electric car charging points.

Progress so far

  • Structural steel including precast concrete stairs complete.
  • Low level lightning protection straps installed.
  • Second floor concrete slab complete.
  • First floor concrete slab complete.
  • Ground floor drainage, ducts, and sand blinding complete.
  • Ground floor gas membrane and protection fleece complete.
  • Roof / Canopy Kingspan panels landed and installed.
  • Bulk excavations continue into Phase 2.
  • External drainage and ducting installation.
  • Vegetation strip / removal complete.

Over the next two weeks

Over the next few weeks upon our return from the festive break, we will see the bulk excavation works within Phase 2 continue with both drainage and ducting being installed systematically, the ground floor slab being poured, with the perimeter brickwork and lift shaft commencing. Roofing works will continue with the upstands commencing, intumescent paint to the structural steel, perimeter SFS and internal core holes to both the first and second floors.
