Project Summary

We’re pleased to be back at Kingswood Academy, working on behalf of Esteem to carry out further reconfiguration works at the school.

Last year, we completed Phase 3 works which involved re-modelling existing classroom spaces to create new science labs. We transformed two open-plan classrooms into five new science teaching pods.

This year, Phase 4 of the summer works at the academy will see new classroom areas to assist with the ever-growing number of students coming to the school.

Progress so far

On-site we are creating 10 new areas for classrooms.

These range from general-purpose classrooms to specialist areas such as design, technology and music.

We have stripped out old partitions to make way for a new layout in our work areas. All the new walls are up and plastered, with 2nd fix electrical works well underway. 2nd fix joinery has begun and the first coating of paint has been added to the walls.

Over the next two weeks

Over the next few weeks, floor finishes will be laid and the second fix joinery and painting will be completed.

4 out of the 5 areas will be handed over ahead of the programme, ready for the new school year. This means that the school can begin the year in their new classrooms rather than having to create temporary classrooms in the sports hall.
