Sherburn Hungate Primary School extension and refurbishment

We are extremely proud to be working with Align Property Partners and North Yorkshire County Council to deliver the Sherburn Hungate Primary School extension and refurbishment.

The project includes; upgrading works to existing classrooms, reconfiguration of internal rooms to create an extra classroom and a refurbishment of the offices to the reception and the front of the school.

The new extension will create five new classrooms, a staff room, cloakrooms and breakout areas. The extension to the existing hall will create more room with the ability to close off and separate into two rooms with some large bi-folding doors.

We are also carrying out some works to upgrade the car park and playground area. These works are split into three phases and will complete all the works by Spring 2021.

Just before the school broke off for Easter, all 260 children and the staff safely visited the new extension in their class bubbles for a tour cleverly disguised as an Easter egg hunt.
Each child illustrated an Easter egg design and three from each class were selected to be displayed in the new extension. The children throughly enjoyed walking round the building trying to find their eggs! Every child was rewarded with a small Easter egg gifted from The Easter Bunny AKA Sewell Construction. An overall winner was picked for both the younger and older children, who each received a larger novelty egg.
Please note: all COVID social distancing measures were adhered to during the tour.

We plan to…

• Complete the rendering to the outside of the building
• Progress with the brickwork on the hall extension
• Complete 60% of the external paving
• Install the internal doors, teaching walls, ceiling tiles and vinyl flooring
