Prepare for a game-changing move!

Welcome to the first newsletter for Sirius Academy Modular Relocation!

As some of you may already be aware in September 2022 we handed over the modular classroom set-up to a delighted client over at Hull Trinity House Academy. This time we’re back to emulate this in 2024 by giving this modular set up a new home in West Hull with the final destination being Sirius Academy West.

The scheme involves the relocation of the two-storey modular classroom setup from Trinity House Academy over to Sirius West Academy. This isn’t just about moving spaces from one side of Hull to another, it’s about providing a new working environment for the Trust’s staff to enjoy for years to come.

Using modern methods of construction we aim to provide a new space that the end user is satisfied with upon completion.

Progress so far

There has been some great progress made on both schemes so far. This involves the following:

Trinity House Academy

  • Installation of crane mat in accordance with structural engineers design
  • Cabin decant
  • Mechanical & electrical de-commissioning
  • Lifting operations

Sirius West Academy

  • Enabling works
  • Installation of foundations
  • Lifting operations
  • Service installations

A key element of both projects has been the lifting operations. With Trinity House Academy being situated in the heart of Hull it meant that meticulous planning and world class execution had to be delivered by the project team in order to ensure that there was minimal disruption to commuters and pedestrians. All whilst maintaining the usual high standards of Health and Safety.

Over the next two weeks

Whilst we are heading towards completion on both schemes it means that the following works are underway:

Trinity House Academy:

  • Re-installation of palisade fencing & timber hoarding
  • Site tidy
  • Site welfare & Office de-cant

Sirius West Academy:

  • Weatherproofing & cabin installation
  • Mechanical & Electrical installation
  • Internal remodelling
  • Landscaping and paving Install
  • Installation of floor finishes

A great scheme to be involved in and one that certainly will make a difference for Sirius West Academy in the future!
