About the project

This project involves the construction of a new-build extension designed to significantly enhance the school’s overall learning environment. The development addresses long-standing space constraints that have previously required the school to convert specialist areas, such as creative arts and design rooms, into standard teaching spaces.

The new extension now provides purpose-built classrooms and flexible learning environments that better support the school’s curriculum delivery and future growth. Alongside the new build, internal remodelling works within the existing building have refreshed areas that required an uplift.

Externally, the project has delivered new pedestrian pathways and a dedicated track area to enhance outdoor recreation and movement across the site. Additional safeguarding improvements, including new gated and fenced access points to the pre-school area, have also been incorporated.

As the project nears completion, final stages of finishing, commissioning, and groundworks are being completed. Works have been carefully planned and executed while the school has remained fully operational throughout, requiring close collaboration with the school’s leadership team and meticulous phasing to ensure minimal disruption and the highest standards of safety.

Progress so far

The new extension is now approaching the final stages of construction, with significant progress made across all key areas. All masonry works have been successfully completed, providing a solid and precise structural base. The roof has been fully installed, including rooflights, ensuring the building is now watertight and secure.

Internally, first fix M&E installations are complete, alongside dot and dab and plastering works, creating a clean and level finish ready for the next phase.

Looking ahead to the coming week, the focus will shift to ceiling installations and the completion of external pathway works, ensuring safe and accessible access around the site. These milestones will pave the way for the internal fit-out phase, which will see joinery works, decoration, flooring, and the final fix of all M&E services being carried out.

Once these stages are completed, the extension will be ready for handover, marking a major achievement for the project team and all those involved. Progress so far reflects the hard work and dedication of each and every team member, and we all look forward to seeing the final touches bring the project to completion
