A busy summer for us all

Throughout summer, much of the work we do is in the education sector. We prepare customers’ buildings for the new term and complete any work that needs doing before they are occupied, which often means tight timescales and quick turnarounds!  We’ve seen customers return again this year because of our track record of safely delivering difficult jobs in tight timescales.

Whilst a lot of our work in the education sector starts and finishes in the summer holiday, we continue to work across the health and commercial sectors too, with ongoing partnerships such as Drax, and supporting health centres and hospitals to continuously improve their estates.

Both Chris and I really appreciate the hard work and effort you have all contributed in taking us through another period of a large volume of work in a short period of time, we’ve seen people go the extra mile, delivering on commitments and most importantly of all keeping all those safe on and around our projects, thank you for this.

We also can’t forget the support we receive from the wider Group and want to give a special mention to the SEC Team, who have supported and enabled us to balance our focus on making progress whilst delivering safely.

Take a closer look at what the teams have been up to below…

A busy summer for our estimating, design & bid teams

Those on our live sites aren’t the only teams who’ve been busy through the summer period. Our estimating, design & bid teams have been working extra hard behind the scenes to ensure our pipeline of work continues.

Across I&G and Sewell Construction, we’ve submitted over 20 bids, which take a lot of work to pull together – with pricing, and careful construction planning, showcasing that we have the right experience, the right policies and are the right company to turn our clients’ vision into a reality. These have ranged in value from £100k-£25m and have included refurbs, new builds, national and regional frameworks, and repeat projects for some of our existing clients across the region.

Alongside this, the teams worked really hard to ensure bids that have been won have everything in place ready to start on site – projects such as Willowfield require a huge team effort to bring it to a point where we are ready to start on site. Meanwhile, our design team continue to support live project delivery too! The process requires months of unseen work to ensure the project meets our client’s expectations, achieves planning permission, and is ready to be built. While all of this is going on, our design team continue to support live project delivery too!

Amazing job done by everyone across these teams.
