Progress so far
Sewell Construction is supporting the Cheney Biomedical Accelerator project, creating a new physical environment to provide a state-of-the-art hub incorporating the project’s transformative research equipment and a modern and collaborative meeting space in the heart of the campus.
Over the last few weeks we have been working hard to ensure all design information and details have been reviewed to allow smooth operational delivery of the project.
Whilst this has been happening in the background, we have had works on site progress where possible.
Our diamond drilling contractor has been forming builders’ works openings (BWO’s) to make way for mechanical and electrical services. We have had our mechanical and electrical contractors make good progress on the Goods Inwards section of the project along with the joinery contractor who has made some amendments to suit the room layout changes. We have also had two new switchboards delivered to site, which are situated in the switchroom, which will make way for future infrastructure works for the University.
Whilst being busy in the background and moving works in the right direction on site, we have also managed to facilitate a visit from Bradford College. Students who are currently studying construction in their first year were given the chance to see a construction site firsthand.
