As we was working within an existing building, it meant that the initial design brief was that any new infrastructure had to tie in with the existing spaces that had previously been constructed on lower levels. This meant that we had to incorporate the following elements of works: exposed ceiling mounted services, acoustic ceiling rafts, glazed partitions and bespoke printed wall graphics to ensure that there was continuity throughout the building upon completion of the project.
Working within a live environment often comes with it's challenges, and one consideration we had during the construction phase of the scheme was limited window of delivery opportunity and minimal "noisy" works during the day. This meant that careful planning and co-ordination was needed in order to ensure that there was minimal disruption to building users during our time on site. The site team scheduled deliveries to take place in accordance with the universities required times, and ensured that the internal distribution of materials and the removal of site waste took place in accordance with the clients stipulations all whilst maintaining our usual high standards of Health & Safety.
There were a number of state of the art building elements on the project, which consisted of the following;
- Acoustic Rafts - Ceiling & Wall Mounted
- Uprated M&E equipment in accordance with M&E design
- Bespoke joinery items such as: Shelving & Book cases
- Room Booking Systems
Another successful project delivered on time and within budget for the University of Leeds!
