Commencement of work

We have been making major developments since our last newsletter and we continue to be fully focused on driving the project forwards.

The West Hull Health Hub team is now sharing all of its latest news across a broader platform on social media. We would love for you to visit them and follow us via the links below:

When the team found out that the pupils at Wheeler primary school where reading Dig, Dig, Digger. We organised for a JCB digger to attend the school where the pupils could see the digger up close in their playground. This brought their imaginations to life and may spark an interest in construction for the next generation.

We have also created a Facebook page giving periodic updates as the project progresses, you can follow us via this link – https://t.co/AJLcCmnVPT?amp=1

Progress so far

Our site team have moved across into the new open plan welfare facility following the Christmas break. The move has provided contractors with improved facilities and additional space for future contractors. The facilities include an expansive open plan canteen, additional toilet and cleaning areas, showers and a boot washing facility. A temporary on-site contractor car park has also been constructed.

We have had a great deal of success with the installation and completion of the piling and foundations for the main building, with works progressing in line with expectations.

The attenuation tank has been fully installed with surface water drainage works continuing, which include a petrol inceptor under the new car park. Completion of the drainage will allow for tarmac to be placed resulting in increased on-site parking as more contractor attend.

We have recently installed a live feed site camera, this sends updated live shots, taken every 30 minutes, and can also be viewed at our Sewell Construction website.

Over the next two weeks

With the steel frame erection beginning early next week and a sequential month ahead, we are now carefully planning the next stage of the project. These will include the construction of the main building's; sleeper walls, block and beam flooring, blockwork to the lift shaft and the fitting of the three staircases.
Designs are currently underway for the sub-station foundations, the bike shed and waste store, the construction of these areas will kick start in late February. Watch this space...
